Thankfully, we’ll finally get our hands on Hollow Knight: Silksong sometime soon. Fans are still waiting for Hollow Knight: Silksong’s release date, and skipping another major event brings to mind a similar title and situation. The wait got even longer when Team Cherry revealed that it would be skipping out on E3 2021. Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, finds herself alone in a vast. The biggest announcement perhaps came as part of an issue of Edge, which, while nice, meant fans still had to wait to see more gameplay. The indie studio quickly became tight-lipped as excitement festered, so much so that Hollow Knight: Silksong updates have been few and far between for years. The original Hollow Knight did eventually come to PS4 and Xbox One, so it is very likely that the Silksong could come to those systems, PS5, and Xbox Series X at some point in the future. However, fans were nonetheless surprised, as this now-sequel had previously been announced as DLC for the first game before Team Cherry decided to pour its efforts into turning the project into something grander. A sequel was inevitable, especially considering the success the first game saw. The saving grace of Silksongs non-release date-reveal at the Xbox and Bethesda showcase came when Xboxs head of creator experience. While a release date wasn’t announced, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass for both console and PC. Team Cherry then went on to announce Hollow Knight: Silksong as an official sequel a few years later. Hollow Knight Silksong is a long time coming. The original Hollow Knight came to PC players as a bleak Metroidvania in 2017, eventually releasing on console platforms, too.
